WHAT DOES THAT ISRAEL RETURN THE OCCUPIED TERRITORIES IN 1967?

(September 1, 2011)

Before the Six-Day War in June 1967, the Arab nation of Jordan controlled the area and Jews were not allowed to move around.
Jerusalem was a divided city and many sections off limits.
But with the 1967 war, Israel's borders were expanded, giving the geographic Israelis more space to defend themselves against their enemies.
Years later (1973), Israel returned to have another war on the day of Yom Kippur, when Egypt attacked him fiercely to the extent of almost defeat the Israel Defense Force.
Israel was helped this time by E.U. of North America managing to win this war, years later, they signed a peace agreement with Jordan and Egypt.
Since that time, tension and attacks by terrorist groups (Hezbollah, Hamas and Fatah) have been increasing each year, as the Palestinians insist not only on being more land, but to establish a Palestinian state and take more land to Israel.
Here is centered the heart of hatred and strife in recent months.
It is expected that in the month of September this year (2011), an agreement between President Obama, UN and other nations is signed to establish the existence of a Palestinian state within Israel, which would place Israel in one of the biggest dilemmas from their existence.
What would it mean for Israel to return all the territories won in the 1967 war?
Within the military strategic aspect, Israel left with only 16 kms. wide in its territory, thus allowing easy access to enemy forces would divide the nation into two parts in wartime.
Second, the largest airport in Israel which is located in Tel Aviv, would be only a few miles of enemy territory, exposing the departures and arrivals of all flights missile attacks.
Thirdly, Syria would get full control of the Golan Hills, which are mountains that divide the border with Israel and from which attacks on Israeli cities would be perfect target for the enemy.
And finally, the old city of Jerusalem would remain under Muslim control, thereby preventing Jews access to holy places or making unsafe to visit.
Israel knows that you must have defensible borders, as his army must have territory to protect the people and their survival depends on it.
They also know that Jerusalem must remain the "united" capital.
They are a spiritual and legal right to their land and, according to Scripture, there remain until the second coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
"I will plant them upon their land and will NEVER be uprooted from the land I have given them, saith the Lord, thy God" (Amos 9:15)
