WHAT IS THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH?
(2 December 2014)
One of the most important and most controversial doctrines today is the "rapture of the church" or also known as the Rapture of the Church.
This doctrine was not revealed under the Old Testament, where you only knew there would be a resurrection of the dead (Isaiah 26:19), but the rapture of the church was a revelation alone was given to the Apostle Paul (I Corinthians 15: 51-53; I Thessalonians 4: 16-17).
Paul mentions that the rapture of the church was a "mystery" that just was revealed to him that this mystery was to know that ... "not all sleep (die physically), but shall all be changed".
In other words, not all Christians like us as it is to die, because there will be a generation that in a blink, in a split second their bodies will be transformed into glorified bodies to meet the Lord in the air.
Right now millions of people suddenly disappear from the planet earth.
The Bible teaches us that the word used to die, "sleep" does not mean entering a state of unconsciousness, because although the death of the body will be inert and will be turned to dust, soul and spirit still alive conscious (Genesis 35: 18,29; 2 Corinthians 5: 8; 2 Peter 1: 13-14; Revelation 6: 9-11).
In other words, if you die today, your body will be buried or cremated (no matter what happens to your body), but your soul and spirit will leave the to go immediately to heaven where you will be given a body temporal awaiting the resurrection of the dead (Revelation 6: 9-11; 7: 9).
When to rapture his church Christ comes he will bring the souls and spirits of all who slept "in Him", and then their bodies will rise transformed to meet in the air with their souls and spirits that were already in the sky (I Thessalonians 4:14).
So, if we belong to the generation that will experience the privilege of not dying, when the rapture our bodies will be transformed in a split second and we will be meeting in the air with all Christians who have died since the Day of Pentecost until then .
Our body is like the body of the risen Christ (Philippians 3: 20-21; I John 3: 2).
This rapture must be BEFORE what is known as the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21; Revelation 6-19), because God did not appoint us to wrath (his judgments at this time about Israel and the world - Romans 5: 9; I Thessalonians 1:10; Revelation 3:10).
The rapture may be made or performed at the time that the Antichrist signs a peace treaty in the Middle East between Arabs and Jews or perhaps months or years before this event.
However, given that the rapture is imminent event (at any time), the Lord Jesus exhorts us in these words:
"Take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and come upon you that day.
For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come, and to stand before the Son of Man "(Luke 21: 34-36).
